![]() ![]() For now, the test is only available from the Windows Store and Mac App Store. With new CPU architectures on the way from both AMD and Intel in the next 12 months, we’re glad to see benchmark authors updating their own software platforms. It’s also worth noting that the performance comparisons for CB20 echo the standings we would’ve expected in CB15, with mild (but not huge) variation in test results. I’ll update this article with any response from AMD, but there’s no reason to think this benchmark has been artificially gamed that I’m aware of. There’s never been any evidence of shenanigans in the Cinebench benchmark code, even during the exact period when we know some of these strategies were being used in other contexts. There’s a Python script, developed by Mark Mackey, that can be used to confirm whether an application was compiled in a way that artificially favors Intel over AMD by refusing to run SIMD code on an AMD chip that should otherwise support it. Why it made the cut: Cinebench is effectively the industry standard for CPU testing. Single-core: 1562 Multi-core: 23566 GFXBench. It tests your CPU on single core and multicore performance. M1 Ultra benchmarks compared against Intel 12900K, Intel Xeon W, AMD Ryzen 9 5950x, and AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X. The single-core test only uses one CPU core, the amount of cores or hyperthreading ability doesn't count. Cinema 4 is a worldwide used software to create 3D forms. Cinebench R20 provides improved benchmark accuracy for current and next-generation CPUs to test if a machine runs stable on a high-CPU load, if the cooling solution of a desktop or notebook is sufficient for longer-running tasks to deliver the full potential of the CPU, and if a machine is able to handle demanding real-life 3D tasks. ![]() I once tested every version of Cinebench ever released, from the 2000 or 2001 variant I had archived (I don’t recall the exact year), up to and including CB15. Cinebench R20 is a widely used and well-known CPU benchmarking tool. Cinebench R15 (Single-Core) Cinebench R15 is the successor of Cinebench 11.5 and is also based on the Cinema 4 Suite.
